I have never seen a hematologist and I am curious about what they may have to offer me.

I do know that, as a healthcare practitioner, it is important to become a strong self-advocate. The ugly truth is no one, not even our loved ones, can care for bodies except us. Larry Dossey, MD, stresses the importance of honoring our bodies wisdom in healing. Doctors, massage therapists, acupuncturists, etc. don't heal us... our body and its wisdom heals itself.

Cures are rare but healing is always possible. Part of the healing process for me has been seeking knowledge and finding healing pracititioners who are willing to PARTNER with me rather than try to exert their authority over my process. I am grateful for my team..... (I have "fired" three doctors in my quest).

A couple of great resources for those dealing with chronic or multiple issues:

Still Here by Ram Dass
Loving What Is by Byron Katie
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle
The Extra-Ordinary Healing Power of Ordinary Things by Larry Dossey
Oh my, I thought I was the only one that fired Doctors, I have fired 4 of them, one of them spoke poor English, I did like her. The other 3 were about as smart as a box of rox.
Now on my team I have a Hematologist, great choice as he works with me to keep me on low dose Warfarin. http://www.swedish.org/17577.cfm

Have a new Internist and Gastroenterologist, no thoughts we shall see. Pain Doctor does not understand the abdominal nerve entrapment from surgeries in 2002, he does not like trigger point treatments. I will point out my research on ACNES. Yep self-advocate and seek out information, we know our bodies the best.
Ignorance is not bliss. [/size]
